What to know
Snow King rises straight out of the south side of town and locals call it the Town Hill. It is small, unfashionable and steeper than it looks, with 1,571 vertical feet and a fair amount of it pitched at an angle that surprises people.
The reason to go is night skiing. The lower mountain is floodlit from 4 pm to 8 pm several nights a week in winter, lift tickets cost a fraction of the resort, and the whole town seems to turn out.
In summer there is a mountain coaster, a gondola and a ridge trail that gives you the best overhead view of Jackson without much effort. Also a hill climb for anyone who wants their legs to hurt.
